OMFB launches the new line of intelligent sensors and transducers for linear, rotary, angular position measurement and flatness detection as an addition to its offer of complete solutions for the control and operation of mobile machines.

A new company is founded: VBR SRL is founded in Reggio Emilia and becomes part of the OMFB Group. VBR SRL offers a wide range of hydraulic systems pursuing an accurate design and validation of the products developed through a careful evaluation and sharing of the customer's needs.

The first foreign branch is established: OMFB INDIA PVT LTD is inaugurated in Bangalore.
OMFB takes over the majority shares of DAL BARCO RENATO SRL company, an historical producer of oil and diesel tanks. The synergy between the two companies allows to offer a wider range of products and technical solutions to customers.
OMFB achieves a prestigious milestone: company quality system is certified by DNV according to both new UNI EN ISO 9001:2008 and ISO/TS 16949:2009 Certificates.
OMFB inaugurates a new 5000 sqm underground plant where an automated warehouse and a large number of modern and efficient machines are placed to increase overall production capacity.
OMFB introduces electronics in the control function of power transmission chain. RADAR series of compact radio remote controls is developed as well as the innovative KIPTRONIC control system : a complete electronic management device for operating a tipper truck in all its functions. Due to its high technology content this product is awarded the INNOVATION PRIZE during 2002 Transpotec exhibition.
The already wide and deep range of OMFB hydraulic components for industrial vehicles - 100% designed, produced and individually tested in-house - is enriched with a new product family : BENT AXIS PISTON PUMPS. The company can now offer NPH-NPGH-LTH-LTA gear pumps series, the popular DARK plunger piston pumps and the range-top BENT AXIS PISTON PUMPS available with American standard flanges as well.
Company efforts are duly rewarded : OMFB is the first Italian company in the industry to obtain ISO 9001 Certificate.
A brand new 15,000 sqm plant is inaugurated and a machinery renovation plan is set up with the target of renewing 90% of the existing units with latest technology CNC systems. It is also launched a consistent reorganization process of Manufacturing, Accounts, Quality Control and Sales Departments.
Constant company growth and new challenges ahead of the company brings OMFB to redesign manufacturing process : production lines are moved to a new 200 sqm location while assembly lines remain in the existing one.
Driven by the company philosophy of “product quality” and with the purpose of enhancing production capacity OMFB starts to employ the first CNC machines.
OMFB takes part in the most important European industrial trade shows. The first export activities to the most important foreign markets start.
A new 2000 sqm production unit, with products-dedicated assembly lines, is inaugurated. Another new product range – AC/DC power packs – is added to the range.
Company workshop becomes too small soon therefore so the first 500 sqm headquarters location is built up. Product range is increased with new oil-hydraulic product families aimed at operating tipper trucks, crames, hookloaders, garbage trucks, etc. OMFB first hand pump series is created with PM50 and PM70 models.
The company starts manufacturing spare parts for Italian, American, English and German trucks used for the massive post-war rebuilding reconstruction. The first product family to be produced is power take-offs (PTO) for various trucks models.
In a small garage, the three brothers Umberto, Nicola and Alessandro Bianchi open up a small mechanical workshop and create OMFB sdf trademark (standing for “Officina Meccanica Fratelli Bianchi”)
